A few members of the guild started making quilts for veterans as a personal project. Over the years, this has grown in both production and voluntary participation. These quilts have been distributed to men and women in Veterans’ Hospitals in Philadelphia, Coatesville, Delaware, and in the Main Line Health Hospice “We Honor Veterans” program. Some quilts have been distributed through the VFW post in Media and to veterans in nursing homes.
Our veterans’ quilts are made with no particular design, size. or fabric designation. All of our fabric is donated. We sort, cut, and make kits to be put together. When a few tops are completed, we cut batting and backs, which are then sandwiched together and quilted.
